philosophy

Every human, every team carry in themselves whatever they need for resilience and dynamic development. However, these resources are often blocked by automatisms: One uses the same trodden path, falls into the same traps over and over again.

Thus, I rely on mindfulness based, facilitative methods for my coaching. Individuals and teams learn to use them for their own specific purposes: stress resilience of individuals and teams, focus and a clear mind, creativity and curiosity, conflict resolution and connectedness.

In addition, I obviously also bring in relevant expert know-how regarding topics like team, conflict, communication, intercultural issues and especially virtual cooperation and virtual leadership

methods

My style? Mindful, dialogic, on eye-level, genuinely interested, respectful, sometimes provoking, certainly playful at times, experimenting, utilizing the body and all its senses as well as available objects or furniture, in dynamic contact and interaction with the coachee.

Working with internal “parts”, e.g. In internal conflict situations: identifying diverse – and often polarized – inner “parts“ and “embodying” them for further exploration, e.g. with the help of “chair-work” etc. , in complex situations: “Externalizing“: using various objects and materials, making it easier to looking at them from different perspectives. Role play, acting “as-if” for testing a strategy / a behavior

Mindfulness based practices such as breathing meditation to strengthen focus and attention or resilience, mindful-creative “journaling”, impulses to break behavioural patterns and automated reactions

Using strengthscope® psychometric testing (a “strength” = a competence you use with joy) and find creative solutions using the strengths for handling current challenges. Also useful for team building

process

After the initial contact, the first coaching session is free of charge so we get to know each other. If both sides decide to continue working together, a minimum of 5 hours will be scheduled, often once a month. Sessions can last 50 or 90 minutes and be on-site or on-line. The duration as well as the intervals between sessions can be decided and changed as needed. The coaching starts with clarifying the overall goal. As this tends to shift over time, agreement on the goal of a session at hand as well as its meaning for the overall goal is part of every session.
